Alejandro Illán was born in Caracas, Venezuela on February 26th, 1968. He studied Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Metropolitana of Caracas and graduated as a Commercial Pilot in Venezuela and the United States. This has allowed him to travel the whole world for over 20 years. 

He has lived in Venezuela, Taiwan, and currently resides in the United States with his wife and two daughters. Today, he’s still a pilot and balances his career with writing.
